Bali: Islands, Beaches & Jungles

Most Bali trips don’t match the pictures. This one does: jungle mornings in Ubud, slow days on Lembongan, big views on Penida, mantas on day six.

  • Seven days planned night by night: Ubud, Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Penida and Sanur, with an optional extra Ubud day
  • Fast-boat crossings made simple, with the operators I use and the port tricks that save you money
  • The hotels I actually stayed in, from about US$40 a night to the Four Seasons, compared honestly

Why I’d plan it this way

I’ve been to Bali fourteen times and lived there for more than six months. The islands are where I take people who think they’ve already seen Bali: the water is clearer, the cliffs are bigger and the pace is slower.

I took the manta trip with my eight-year-old daughter, stayed in the hotels I recommend and tell you honestly where a dinner menu runs short. Those are the details I’d share with a friend planning this trip.

I’ve been travelling my whole life. The truth is, I’ve never been rich. What I have is an eye for value, and more than fifteen years of planning and logistics behind every recommendation.

More about me and how I plan trips

Inside the 69 pages

Before you go

Travel essentials, the overview table and a booking checklist, from the eVOA three days ahead to the dinners that book out a month early. Pages 13 to 21.

Stays, compared honestly

Hotels I stayed in myself, from about US$40 to the Four Seasons, including the beach huts I’d pick on Lembongan and four Sanur options. Pages 18 to 21 and through each day.

Seven days, planned

Ubud’s waterfalls and terraces, the fast boat to Lembongan, Penida’s cliff circuit and a manta morning, then an easy Sanur finish. Pages 22 to 69.

Add-ons and swaps

An optional Ubud day with rafting or a purification ritual, rainy-day plans, and the candid notes: where not to swim, and which port taxis to walk past. Pages 32 to 40.

Take a look inside

Three pages from the guide, exactly as you’ll receive them. Open one to read it properly, from hotel comparisons to the fast-boat logistics.

The Tibumana and Tukad Cepung waterfalls near Ubud

Start in the Ubud jungle

Waterfall mornings at Tibumana and Tukad Cepung, rice terraces before 9 am, and the Legong dance at Ubud Palace in the evening.

Beach huts and dinner views on Nusa Lembongan

Slow down on Lembongan

A 30 to 45 minute fast boat, then beach huts, seafood dinners and a private three-hour snorkel boat for about AUD $100. Turtles are a regular sight.

The turquoise bay below Kelingking cliff, Nusa Penida

Finish big on Nusa Penida

Kelingking and the quieter Paluang Cliff, Crystal Bay at sunset, and a morning snorkelling with manta rays before the boat back to Sanur.

For the trip you want to plan yourself

You’re happy to make the bookings. You’d just like a thoughtful starting point, with the places and practical details in one place.

A route, with room to adjust

Seven days covers the loop comfortably, and the guide includes an optional extra Ubud day plus swaps for rainy mornings and slower travel. Family-friendly options are flagged throughout.

Two ways to read it

The PDF keeps the original page layout. The EPUB lets you adjust the text in a compatible reading app. Download the files before travelling so you can read them offline.

Clear about what’s included

You’re buying the guide and its recommendations. Flights, hotels, transfers and activities are booked and paid for separately. This is a ready-made itinerary.

A few useful answers

If you’re wondering whether this guide is right for your trip, you can ask me directly.

Why buy this when I can Google it or ask ChatGPT?

Google and ChatGPT will give you a thousand options and no way to know which are real. I’ve stayed in these hotels, eaten in these places and taken this route myself. You get one plan you can trust, with the details that don’t show up in listings: timing, transport and what’s actually worth it.

How do I receive the guide?

You’ll receive a download link by email after purchase, with both the PDF and EPUB files. Check your spam folder if you can’t find it, or email olga@luxetravelstudio.com for help.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. Open the PDF in a PDF reader, or the EPUB in a compatible reading app such as Apple Books. Download the files before you travel to read them offline. Opening websites or booking services will still need an internet connection.

Do I have to follow every day exactly?

No. Use the route as a starting point. Add a night on the island you love most or take the optional extra Ubud day. Seven days is a comfortable pace, and the guide marks the easy swaps.

Does the price include any travel bookings?

No. The price is for the digital guide in PDF and EPUB formats. Flights, accommodation, transfers, meals and activities are separate. You arrange those bookings yourself.

Will prices and opening times still be the same?

They can change. Use the guide to choose your route and shortlist places, then confirm current prices, opening hours and availability directly before booking.

What if I’d like a trip built around me?

If you’d like a plan around your dates, interests and pace, I also offer personalised trip planning. That is a separate service.
