Why I’d plan it this way

I live on this coast, and these islands are my own escapes. Most sit an easy drive from Brisbane, yet they feel like somewhere far more exotic.

Sand tobogganing on Moreton is my favourite: like snowboarding on warm golden sand. That’s the kind of detail I’d share with a friend, and this guide is full of them.

I’ve been travelling my whole life. The truth is, I’ve never been rich. What I have is an eye for value, and more than fifteen years of planning and logistics behind every recommendation.

Six islands.
One is yours.

This isn’t a single itinerary. It’s a choose-your-island guide: find your match, get there without the airport chaos, and spend your days on the reef.

Heron Island surrounded by reef, from the air

Pick your island

A quick quiz matches you to your island, from guests-only Heron to family-easy Daydream. Every chapter stands on its own.

The Tangalooma wrecks off Moreton Island

Get there, check in

Exact ferries and barges from Brisbane, and the stays I’d book on each island, shortlisted and compared.

Snorkelling over coral on the southern Great Barrier Reef

Reef days and slow sunsets

Snorkel from the beach on Heron, hand-feed wild dolphins at Tangalooma, float down Eli Creek and finish with a sunset toast.

For the trip you want to plan yourself

You’re happy to make the bookings. You’d just like a thoughtful starting point, with the places and practical details in one place.

An island escape, your length

Two or three days suits most islands, and Hamilton deserves three to five. The guide flags which islands fit couples, families and solo travellers, so you can match the trip to your style.

Two ways to read it

The PDF keeps the original page layout. The EPUB lets you adjust the text in a compatible reading app. Download the files before travelling so you can read them offline.

Clear about what’s included

You’re buying the guide and its recommendations. Flights, hotels, transfers and activities are booked and paid for separately. This is a ready-made itinerary.

Hear from my travellers

The itinerary was so precise we never once opened Google Maps in confusion.

A few useful answers

If you’re wondering whether this guide is right for your trip, you can ask me directly.

Why buy this when I can Google it or ask ChatGPT?

Google and ChatGPT will give you a thousand options and no way to know which are real. I’ve stayed in these hotels, eaten in these places and taken this route myself. You get one plan you can trust, with the details that don’t show up in listings: timing, transport and what’s actually worth it.

How do I receive the guide?

You’ll receive a download link by email after purchase, with both the PDF and EPUB files. Check your spam folder if you can’t find it, or email olga@luxetravelstudio.com for help.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. Open the PDF in a PDF reader, or the EPUB in a compatible reading app such as Apple Books. Download the files before you travel to read them offline. Opening websites or booking services will still need an internet connection.

Do I have to follow every day exactly?

No. Each island chapter stands alone, so you can do one long weekend now and a different island next season. Two to three days suits most islands; Hamilton deserves three to five.

Does the price include any travel bookings?

No. The price is for the digital guide in PDF and EPUB formats. Flights, accommodation, transfers, meals and activities are separate. You arrange those bookings yourself.

Will prices and opening times still be the same?

They can change. Use the guide to choose your route and shortlist places, then confirm current prices, opening hours and availability directly before booking.

What if I’d like a trip built around me?

If you’d like a plan around your dates, interests and pace, I also offer personalised trip planning. That is a separate service.
